Yesterday was the Makaraka school cross country,
There were a lot of 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.

The race is different for each year group.
The year zero's one's and year two's race is different to the year three's and fours
I came 3rd in my race,
Charlie came 2nd and Theo came 1st.

Tasting the pies
Yesterday we made the pies!
I only tried 3 of the pies because all the others got eaten before I had a chance to try them.
The pies I tried were Amber's fruit pie, Ethan's cheese burger pie and Jed's venison pie.
My favourite pie was Amber's fruit pie that I had 4 quarters of.
I only had 1 of the other pies, 1 because they got eaten and 2 I took my time eating them.
The pies were delicious and today we made mine that I hope taste good.

Making pie fillings
On Wednesday we made our delicious pie fillings.
Mine was as you know, a bacon, egg and toast pie.
In the picture I am making the bacon with the electric fryer.
I scattered the rosemary, salt, pepper and thyme over the crispy bacon.
The people in my group were Me, Zoe, Ollie and Nivanah.
We only needed to make the bacon on that day because the egg gets put in the day after.
Mr Milne did not understand my pie nor did Megan but then I explained it to them.
Mr Milne still did not get it but now Megan does.
Our first steep of the bacon was to cut it up into little chunks.
2. Fry it until it has turned a bit orange and crispy.
3. Scatter the salt, pepper, thyme and rosemary over the bacon.

Disco fever!!!
On Saturday I had the best night ever!!
We had a awesome disco were you can get a slushy, pizza, popcorn and even face paints!
Every thing cost 2 dollars apart from the face paints which were free.
I bought about 3 of every foods and after I felt sick.
I went there with my cousin Drew who is also my best friend.
We were told to bring a costume so after school I went op shopping and I got a black leather jacket so I told Drew to bring his black leather jacket.
Once we were there Drew had the black jacket and his little brother Lachie had a U.S.A leather jacket.
The lights inside were crazy!
There was a D.J. there called ash and he was great.
The disco lasted for at least 1 and a half hours.
Tell me in the comments of a disco you have been to and how crazy it was!

Voted
Just 10 minutes ago I got voted to make my pie!!!
I got 21 votes and the other person got 5 votes so that means that we are going to make my bacon and egg pie.
Bacon, egg and toast pies
Today and a few days before we made posters about tipes of pie we want to make.
I am making a bacon, egg and sliced toast pie but it is not like a normal bacon and egg pie the egg is not going to have a scrambled egg the egg is going to be still runny.
Mr Milne said my pie will not be easy to make so he told me that I should try to make it at home and if it works I can try it at school and I will do a blog post about it.

Tasting herbs
Today we tasted some herbs and other things like garlic and chilli.
The reason we tasted these herbs is because we are going to make pies soon so we needed to find some flavour for them.,
The herbs we tried were rosemary, thyme, garlic, chives, mustard seeds, oregano, parsley, chilly flakes, mint, sage and basil.
My favourite herb was probably the rosemary or the thyme because the were both a bit salty.
The pie I am going to probably make is deer heart or lamb steak.
What would your pie be tell me on the comments.

ANZAC DAY
My thinking: | |
Poppies | We wear poppies to represent those people who went to war and threw away their lives for us so that we can live a happy life. |
Soldiers | Soldiers went to war to try to make peace to all people and all countries. |
Machine guns | With a machine gun you would be able to take out a lot of people who are running straight at you. |
Medals | Medals are good to have if you have survived the war because they show your bravery and loyalty |
War boats | Soldiers use war boats to carry them to the battle site and also to help the wounded to the hospital and maybe back to the battle. |

Number sticks
One month ago we played a math game with popsicle sticks. Here are the steps of how to play it: 1. Get 2O popsicle sticks. 2. Right any number up to 1OOO on all 2O sticks. 3. Find a partner. 4. Mix up all of the sticks and turn them over so that you can not see the numbers. 5. You and your partner will pull out ten sticks each and keep them turned over. 6. Say 3,2,1, go and put the sticks in order from highest to lowest and hoever was faster to finish wins!
